It was quite the thanksgiving. I’ll post about it later – but for now here are some visuals.

Today was Quentin’s first day at the Discovery Preschool. He had a blast. I don’t think he even noticed Bud and I leaving the room. It was the first day the school was open, and so they are still settling into the new building. It looks super, and is filled with great toys, books and lots of stuff for Mr. Adventure to climb. He climbed on all the tables, bookshelves, cubbies and figured out how to open the door to the toddler room.
Apparently, he also listens to the teachers when they tell him to do something. I find this amazing. It was noted that he doesn’t sit still, which was not a surprise. He was very interested in the potty when the kids all had some potty time, but didn’t want to sit on it. He did flush though. He was there for over 3 hours and didn’t want to leave when I came to pick him up. I think I will leave him for the full 4 hours on Monday.
I have just a few pictures from the day, Quentin was just to busy to get a good shot.
We have been having a huge snow storm, everything is white and beautiful. I am hoping to get out snow shoeing this weekend. We just got new snow tires and our car is doing pretty well.

Here are a few pictures from the past week. We had a pretty good one. It started snowing and Quentin had a good time putting his new snow suit on and taking it off.
This upcoming week is a big one for us. Quentin should start going to school monday and wednesday mornings. The school won’t be open on monday, but we are hopeful for wednesday.
Quentin has been practicing going potty quite a bit. If fact he is currently running around the house naked playing. Every so often he goes into the bathroom, sits on the toilet, talks about pee, tears off some tp, gets off, flushes 2 or 3 times, closes the lid and runs around some more. I think this is more progress.

My friend Kate came over with her new puppy yesterday. His name is Sam, and he is 9 weeks old. He is super cute! He is also really hard to get a clear picture of – so please excuse the fuzzy pics at the end of the post. I had to try.
I have a an exercise group that meets at my house two nights a week. Last night we spent most of the time playing with the new puppy. That was fine with me. I spent the rest of the time cuddling my toddler who had just woken up from a nap. The other ladies got a bit of a work out in, but it was kind of a slow night for exercise.
After a week of wanting to be naked and sitting on the potty – today Quentin has zero interest in anything having to do with the bathroom. I think learning to use the toilet is going to take a very long time.
Bud has left town for the weekend, so Q and I are on our own. We have some dinner plans, and play dates – but it is rainy out, and we might just hunker down for the weekend. The house is full of a fresh batch of library books, good foods and snacks, and feels down right cozy.

This is going to be a total potty post. If you find this unsettling, I suggest you stop reading. As I have been in potty world all week it is all I can think about. There will also be no pictures. A couple of days ago someone commented on some naked baby pics – and I didn’t know who they were. This kinda wierded me out, so no more naked baby pics. And if you continue reading you will find that my little Quentin has been mostly naked recently.
I’ve been waiting for Quentin to show signs of interest in potty training. This week – he has gone full force into that realm. He is talking about pee pee and poo poo all the time. He is also wanting to practice going potty quite a bit. This means getting naked, putting his potty seat on the toilet, sitting for 10 seconds, unrolling a large amount of TP, getting off the toilet, removing his seat, flushing, closing the lid, and running full force in a circle around the house before heading back to the bathroom. If he actually does have to pee – this is done under the kitchen table before I can intercept. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday he did this for about an hour each day. After an hour, I need a break and convince him to do something else. And get dressed. He has actually peed in the toilet once, and it was a time of celebration throughout the house.
Today he has wanted to practice potty a couple of times. But for some reason wants to get naked, do the potty thing, then get dressed again. Every 10 to 15 minutes he says – “Shirt OFF!” “GO POTTY!” And it is time to practice. After the usual lap around the house he says “SHIRT ON!” I think this is progress. He also told David at work today that he had just made a pee pee. That is the first time he has told anybody anything like that.
